Stalag loopy, stalag mad: mental and physical health in European Prisoner of War Camps, 1939-1945

During the Second World War many Allied troops were captured by the Axis forces – this talk will explore the lives of these men after capture through the lens of mental and physical health. From barbed wire madness, to eating disorders, and shoveller’s fracture, it will consider the realities of mass incarceration and the affects this had on the prisoners’ health.
